The JH Construction class made this Easter scene to share with the school. After Easter, we will have 50 days of celebrating Christ's resurrection. May our families unite with all families this Easter, in love and blessing for the whole world, on this holiest of holy days.

Please help us celebrate the 50 days of Easter. We are so blessed to have the gift of Catholic Education. We are asking each family to fill out a brief response (1 question) accessible via the link sent in the school newsletter (50 Days of Eastertide & Catholic Education). This initiative is hosted by GrACE (Grateful Advocates for Catholic Education). This organization works year-round to advocate for the gift of publicly-funded Catholic education. Throughout each of the 50 Days of Easter, it is their hope to share a short testimony/quote from parents in the CTR Catholic community on how Catholic education has impacted your life or the lives of your children. In the spirit of almsgiving during this Lenten season, we pray that you might consider answering this one question: How has Catholic Education had an impact on you or your child?

Kilos of Kindness - Our students and staff answered the call to donate food to the disadvantaged in our community. We gathered 903.4 lbs of food. #makingtheworldabetterplace

We had a visitor come to the school yesterday and no one saw him. He left a big mess and silly notes in some classrooms. Students even built traps to catch him but to no avail. The leprechaun eluded everyone and had some fun with the students.

St. Anthony’s Grad Class is hosting a bottle drive starting now and will continue until April 17. Fundraising efforts have been limited this year due to COVID and the graduating class has decided to do a bottle drive with all of the funds going towards a celebration of their successful completion of high school. If you have any bottles you would like us to pick up any day please contact Zoe Boland at (403) 334-1517 or email at zoe.boland@mail.com . We are aware that there are some people that would like to have the contact-less pick up so you can call this number provided to arrange pick up. On April 17 you can drop the bottles off at the Bottle Depot on 118 7 Ave SE and let them know it is for St. Anthony’s Graduating Class. All donations are appreciated as this is something special the grad committee is trying to do for the grads. Any community support is greatly appreciated. We are so happy that we have a great community and the St. Anthony’s Grad Committee that's really trying to focus on giving our students something positive to remember.

We are so blessed to have excellent substitute teachers at St. Anthony’s School. They have continued to be there to support our students and staff.

Ever wonder what it was like for Michelangelo painting The Sistine Chapel? Mrs. Schrock's 8B class got a taste in their Social class this morning as part of learning about the Renaissance.

In light of Pink Shirt day today, the student council worked with the entire school to create a simple mural which was a “mosaic of kindness”. They asked students to write different “acts of kindness” on a slip of paper and put together the mural to share with everyone. It is the infinity symbol with an outpouring of kindness and certainly helps everyone understand the importance and value of loving and respecting the dignity of all.

Tick Tock - Can't stop the clock! Deadline for ordering your Yearbook for 2020-2021 is Friday, March 26. Yearbooks are now on sale for $35 each. They can be purchased online with SchoolCash Online. If you have not yet created an account, you will need your child’s Alberta Student Number (this number can be found on your student’s report card.) Please call the school if you need any help ordering. The yearbook is packed full of memories of your child's year at school.

We are pleased to announce that this year we presenting the Christian Witness award to Chris Bzdel. Chris lives each day thinking about what Jesus would do. She is constantly seeking ways to help those around her. One of Chris's many charisms is prayer and she will often reach out and pray at the moment with someone in need of prayer. Her motto is "If I say I will do a prayer for you, I will do a prayer with you right there and hopefully this will put a little ease in your heart and mind knowing that Christ is with you". Another charism is giving. Chris gives where it is needed, One of everyone’s favourite giving is her baking. She is the first one to offer her homemade baking for any school or church event. Chris is someone who takes great joy in her faith journey and searches out resources such as Bishop Barron, Blessed is She and Abiding Together. Chris's care, concern and love for her family and colleagues is always evident. Reaching out and checking in with everyone is natural for Chris and we are so blessed to have her on the team at St. Anthony's School.
