TRANSPORTATION UPDATE 6:15 am – December 08, 2023 All of our schools are open, but some rural routes might not run due to icy conditions and accumulation of snow. Although conditions appear to have improved, significant snowfall and drifting on rural roads has created unsafe driving conditions. We expect in-town buses to run in all communities, but we anticipate that road conditions might cause some to run late. Even where we initially determine that rural buses can travel, individual bus drivers have the authority to cancel routes if they determine that local conditions may be unsafe. In the case that a route is cancelled, Southland Transportation will contact families. Students and staff driving to school should use extra caution and plan for additional travel time. Please do not leave children unattended at bus stops, and please ensure that they are dressed appropriately for the conditions. CTR will continue to monitor the road conditions throughout the day. For up-to-date transportation information, please click on “Bus Status” on the divisional website at www.redeemer.ab.ca
The St. Anthony’s quilt club spent last year creating lap quilts for the residents in Long Term care. The fabric purchased to make the quilts was made possible by the generous donations from the St Anthony’s Catholic Women’s League and Bubba T’s Shuttle Service. A few of the students, Sydney and Amber, from last year’s quilting group were on hand to present the quilts as well as Mrs. Fournier, Ms. Black and two CWL members who also happen to be former School staff!: Mrs. Scott & Mrs. Dumaine ❤
Feast day - Dec. 6th Saint Nicholas, patron saint of children, pray for us ❤️ Traditions grew from the story of when St. Nicholas, the Bishop of Myra, threw bags of dowry money, either through a window or down a chimney, into the home of an impoverished family to rescue their daughters from being sold into slavery. This was just one of his many acts of good will and charity towards the poor, especially poor children.
Calling all artists! In its fifth year, Curated. Art Collective is an opportunity for students at CTR Catholic to showcase their artistic talents in a division-wide art collective. This year’s theme aligns with CTR’s new Three-year Faith Theme: Faith Seeking Understanding. To provide some inspiration on how to incorporate the theme, students are invited to consider how the following help our faith in God grow, as they create their artwork: • The Beauty of Creation • The Marvel of the Sciences • How God’s Grace Builds Upon Nature • The Joy of a Diverse Humanity • The Wonderful Complementarity of Christian Faith and Science K-16, talk to your homeroom teacher, grades 7-12, talk to Mrs. Jusseaume about entering. Winning entries will be displayed at the Catholic Education Centre in Okotoks! Call your school with questions. 🎨
