Due to winter road conditions, rural bus routes in Okotoks, High River, Strathmore, Drumheller, and Canmore will not run today, including routes serving St. Francis of Assisi Academy. In-town bus routes in these communities will still run as usual. In Brooks all in-town and rural bus routes are expected to run normally. Affected families will receive communication directly from their driver this morning. Please also check the bus route status page on our website for updates. If possible, parents may make alternate arrangements to transport their child(ren) to and from school. Please do not leave children unattended at bus stops. We apologize for any inconvenience this may cause our families.

Over the Easter break, Mr. Phillips and Mrs. Straub lead 13 of our students on an educational trip to France. Their journey took them through some of the most historic and culturally significant sites in the country, including the Eiffel Tower, the Arc de Triomphe, and the Louvre in Paris; Chartres Cathedral in Chartres; Chรขteau de Chambord, Chรขteau de Chenonceau, and Chรขteau dโAmboise in the Loire Valley; Mont St. Michel in the Brittany region; Juno Beach, Arromanches, and the Bรฉny-sur-Mer Canadian War Cemetery in Normandy; and the Palace of Versailles just outside Paris. Mr. Phillips has been organizing student trips since 2008 as well as served as a chaperone on trips organized by CTRโs โCentre for Learning@HOMEโ. He says that these experiences have continually reinforced his belief that travel is one of the most valuable learning opportunities we can offer students, giving them the opportunity to encounter different cultures firsthand, broaden their perspectives, and develop greater independence and confidence. Just as importantly, it brings history to life! โThis trip was a memorable and meaningful experience for everyone involved, and I am grateful to have shared it with such a great group of students. The next trip is planned for 2028, with the destination still to be decided. Anyone interested should stay tuned for more information in the future.โ โ๏ธ๐งณ๐๐
