Thank you to all our students who helped celebrate Earth Day. The day marks the anniversary of the birth of the modern environmental movement in 1970. The day inspires us to act towards the protection of the environment and focus on the need for conservation. The environment is God's gift to everyone, and in our use of it we have a responsibility towards the poor, towards future generations, and towards humanity as a whole. . . Our duties towards the environment are linked to our duties towards the human person, considered in himself and in relation to others. It would be wrong to uphold one set of duties while trampling on the other. (Pope Benedict XVI, Charity in Truth [Caritas in Veritate], nos. 48, 51)
Grade 11 students Lorenzo Pulvinar and Weston Snider did a presentation for Ms. Boyne’s grade 4 class on our 3D printer. The grade 4’s were working in the computer lab last week when the printer was producing one of Lorenzo and Weston’s projects. They were so intrigued we arranged for the two grade 11 boys to show the grade 4’s how it all works, from the creation of the project in the computer program to how the printer itself works. These projects are CTS modules Lorenzo and Weston are doing in Art and Media.

Thank you to the schools in #Drumheller that participated in the Kilo of Kindness for the local food bank. These local schools raised 1,918 lbs of food for the food bank at The Salvation Army Drumheller. A great big thank you to Greentree Elementary School, St. Anthony's School, Drumheller Valley Secondary School for your generosity and community spirit!
This year, all three schools throughout the Drumheller Valley participated in the Kilo of Kindness program. Students were tasked with bringing in food to donate to the local food bank, and this year they collected a whopping 867.6 kilos... That's 1908.9 pounds! Thank you to everyone from Drumheller Valley Secondary School, Greentree Elementary School, and St. Anthony's School who participated this year to bring all of these Kilos of Kindness to The Salvation Army Drumheller Food Bank! The Kilo of Kindness program is a program organized by Community Development and Social Planning department at the Town of Drumheller that encourages schools throughout our community to donate specific, non-perishable food items that go to the local food bank to support families and individuals in need. #DrumCares
The JH Construction class made this Easter scene to share with the school. After Easter, we will have 50 days of celebrating Christ's resurrection. May our families unite with all families this Easter, in love and blessing for the whole world, on this holiest of holy days.
Please help us celebrate the 50 days of Easter. We are so blessed to have the gift of Catholic Education. We are asking each family to fill out a brief response (1 question) accessible via the link sent in the school newsletter (50 Days of Eastertide & Catholic Education). This initiative is hosted by GrACE (Grateful Advocates for Catholic Education). This organization works year-round to advocate for the gift of publicly-funded Catholic education. Throughout each of the 50 Days of Easter, it is their hope to share a short testimony/quote from parents in the CTR Catholic community on how Catholic education has impacted your life or the lives of your children. In the spirit of almsgiving during this Lenten season, we pray that you might consider answering this one question: How has Catholic Education had an impact on you or your child?
Kilos of Kindness - Our students and staff answered the call to donate food to the disadvantaged in our community. We gathered 903.4 lbs of food. #makingtheworldabetterplace
On March 19 we invite you to join the celebration of the Feast of St. Joseph by joining the mass at 5 pm at St. Anthony's Parish. Please go to St. Anthony's School's YouTube at the link below: https://www.youtube.com/channel/UCVgyIFIvbOs2LuLs3emVomw
We had a visitor come to the school yesterday and no one saw him. He left a big mess and silly notes in some classrooms. Students even built traps to catch him but to no avail. The leprechaun eluded everyone and had some fun with the students.
St. Anthony’s Grad Class is hosting a bottle drive starting now and will continue until April 17. Fundraising efforts have been limited this year due to COVID and the graduating class has decided to do a bottle drive with all of the funds going towards a celebration of their successful completion of high school. If you have any bottles you would like us to pick up any day please contact Zoe Boland at (403) 334-1517 or email at zoe.boland@mail.com . We are aware that there are some people that would like to have the contact-less pick up so you can call this number provided to arrange pick up. On April 17 you can drop the bottles off at the Bottle Depot on 118 7 Ave SE and let them know it is for St. Anthony’s Graduating Class. All donations are appreciated as this is something special the grad committee is trying to do for the grads. Any community support is greatly appreciated. We are so happy that we have a great community and the St. Anthony’s Grad Committee that's really trying to focus on giving our students something positive to remember.
We are so blessed to have excellent substitute teachers at St. Anthony’s School. They have continued to be there to support our students and staff.
Ever wonder what it was like for Michelangelo painting The Sistine Chapel? Mrs. Schrock's 8B class got a taste in their Social class this morning as part of learning about the Renaissance.
A great reminder to all of us from Pope Francis.
